Fabrications From The Crypt
As many of you may have heard by now, The Discovery Channel plans to debut a documentary on Mar. 4, presenting evidence that a certain tomb they found in Jerusalem may have contained the bodies of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and Judah, a child they supposedly parented. Here's an excerpt from their press release:
New scientific evidence, including DNA analysis conducted at one of the world's foremost molecular genetics laboratories, as well as studies by leading scholars, suggests a 2,000-year-old Jerusalem tomb could have once held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth and his family. The findings also suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene might have produced a son named Judah.
The DNA findings, alongside statistical conclusions made about the artifacts -- originally excavated in 1980 -- open a potentially significant chapter in Biblical archaeological history.
A documentary presenting the evidence, "The Lost Tomb of Jesus," will premiere on the Discovery Channel on March 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The documentary comes from executive producer James Cameron and director Simcha Jacobovici.
Here's a link to the entire press release, that is if you can stomach it.
This strikes me as yet another Follywood leftist with an anti-Christian agenda. I just want to know one thing Mr. James Cameron...where's the body? There might be a case for this if there were actually any remains, which reminds me of something else. How can DNA evidence be cited when there is no credible reference sample to compare it to? Also, they found this thing in 1980. If this were truly the smoking gun against the gospel of Jesus, why are we hearing about it 27 years after the fact? Does it take that long to get your stories straight?
It's also funny to know that the archaeologist in charge of the excavation at the time even debunks the claims. We have the bones of Buddha. We have the remains of Muhammed. We have the corpse of Confucious. But the tomb of the Son of Man remains empty...because He is risen! I'll be watching the docmentary when it comes out...but only with amusement.

Take care...
I do find it interesting that the author here did not point out that no "human remains" were found, only evidence of human remains suggesting the bodies were decompossed.
But you would claim that is due to jesus' ressurection, perhaps no remain are found in any tombs suggest that jesus' entire family was ressurected? Im not sure but that seems to be what your implying. Unless everyone else just decomposed, while jesus was ressurected......
not that creditable of an argument on your behalf.
but hey, lets look at the evidence and see what direction it points to.
They may very well find human remains that match that of Jesus. After all, he was buried for three days...skin samples of him, at the very least, would naturally be left behind. This does not disprove his resurrection in the slightest. On the contrary, the 500 who witnessed it(listed in 1 Cor. ch. 15) offer the necessary confirmation of this. If they find skeletal remains that can conclusively be proven as being his, well, then so much for that. Of course, DNA evidence is worthless if a known and confirmed legitimate reference sample has not been gathered from the body. Obviously that was not a consideration 2,000 years ago.
You might say my belief in this doesn't make it true. I could then counter that your lack of belief doesn't make it false. Hence we are at an impasse. It is your choice to reject Christ. Just know that you bear the greater burden of proof. Thanks for visiting my site! :)
